PULWAMA, JANUARY 08: While continuing with his on-spot visits to far flung areas of Pulwama, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today visited the farthest areas of Ichgoza, Qasbayar, Sahadimarg, Rajpora, and reviewed the status of essential commodities, restoration of power supply and healthcare services available.
While reviewing the Snowfall situation and the availability of essential commodities in these areas, the DC was informed that there is a sufficient stock of essential commodities available in these areas including LPG, ration, Vegetables and other essentials.
On the occasion, DC directed the officials of all line departments to work in mission mode besides coordinating with each other to ensure uninterrupted supply of the essential items and services in the district. He directed Tehsildars, officials of R&B, Jal Shakti, PDD and other line departments to remain stationed at their locations and ensure prompt delivery of essential items and services to the public and address emergency demands with utmost preparedness.
The DC also directed the concerned to conduct regular market checking to check the arbitrary rise in prices and illegal stocking.
The DC instructed line departments to remain alert, work in coordination and ensure that Snow clearance work is completed at an earliest.
Earlier, the DC visited District Hospital Pulwama and took stock of availability of patient care facilities. On the occasion, DC interacted with patients, attendants and directed the concerned to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply besides heating facilities at the health care institution.
Choudhary emphasized on cleanliness and regular supply of essential medicines to the needy patients.
The DC directed the concerned officers to remain available for public grievance redressal and not to leave their headquarters in view of inclement weather.
During the day, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, ADC Tral, Awantipora and concerned Tehsildars inspected the respective areas to monitor the snow clearance operation.
